How it will work

From a first hello to their favourite walk

Once bookings open in your area, WalknStay is designed to bring profiles, conversations and bookings together in one place. We're starting with dog walking, with dog sitting and dog boarding launching shortly after.

Find someone local
Browse walkers near your postcode and compare their profiles, rates and availability. Choose someone who suits your dog and your routine.
Meet before you book
Message a walker to arrange a free, no-obligation meet and greet. Talk about your dog's needs, their usual route and how you'll hand over the lead.
Agree a walk, then book
Send a booking request when you feel comfortable. Your walker accepts before you confirm, with payments handled through Stripe.

Know who's holding the lead

A profile is a starting point. Meeting your walker gives you and your dog time to get comfortable, discuss their needs and ask questions before making a booking.

Email and payout verification

Walkers verify their email before creating a profile. Stripe checks their identity and bank details before payouts are enabled.

Insurance is self-declared

Public liability insurance is optional but recommended. Walkers can declare it on their profile; WalknStay does not verify the certificate. Ask to see it at your meet and greet.

Ask about a DBS check

We recommend DBS checks, but do not collect or store certificates or show DBS status on profiles. Ask your walker to show you their certificate in person.

Before you join

Can I book a dog walker now?: Bookings are opening area by area, so availability across the UK is not guaranteed. Join the waitlist with your postcode to hear when walkers are available near you.
Will there be iOS and Android apps?: iOS and Android apps are on our roadmap, but are not confirmed and have no release dates. Joining the waitlist is for local marketplace launch news, not a promise of a mobile app release.
Can I join as a dog walker?: Yes. If you'd like to offer local walks, visit our become a walker page to learn about profiles, setting your own rates and getting ready for launch.
